Disclaimer: I apologize for being 'slow' on the uptake of information on these boards but I do try and read and keep up to date with things as best I can. Sorry if this has been mentioned or noted. I'm not suggesting anything in this thread just bringing up certain perceptions of mine

Now I want to ask the devs a question in regards to the following post on the healing forums, and I'd also like to see feedback / discussion from players in this thread.

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=17223066814&sid=1

If you're too lazy to hit the link, its a thread started by the Warcraft Lead Systems Designer openly asking the healing forum readers what they think about druids tree form. To quote the main question in the post:

Q u o t e:
Is druid Tree of Life form fun?
...

We think cat and bear forms are fun. They have very clear roles and unique abilities. Tree of Life has no unique abilities. It essentially forces you to give up a portion of your class abilities in order to be as good a healer as other classes. In PvP it lets you tank a little, but again with the downside of giving away a good deal of your mobility, damage and crowd control.

Now my purpose of this particular thread is to bring up how these issues with tree form are honestly almost identical to two other 'forms' in this game, firstly another druid form; their spell DPS counterpart- Moonkin, and secondly the priest DPS form- Shadowform.

No unique abilities? Check
Forces you to give up a portion of your class abilities in order to be as good a [role] as other classes [in the same role]? Check.
In PvP; Lets you tank a little but does away with a good deal of [other attributes, Healing for shadow and Moonkin, Mobility for moonkin because priest doesn't have any anyhow etc~]? Check.

Now I don't mean to QQ out of petty jealousy over the tree form thread and its exposure... I just want to let the devs know that there are some parallels between these forms, and am really wondering if this has been brought up internally also. Hell, Moonkin / Shadow aren't exactly overwhelmingly powerful in PvP at the moment anyhow. Are these forms the restrictive reason why the specs have poor representation? Do you think these forms, Moonkin and Shadowform, are 'fun'? (For the record, I like Shadowform aesthetically, but it's generally very very clunky for a large variety of reasons I can list if anyone asks. I'm also jealous of what I perceive as better healing coming from ret pallies and other hybrids not burdened by form restrictions)

TL;DR-
Tree form has spell restrictions and development (Check the link above) are wondering if its even a fun 'form' or not. I'm wondering if the same applies to Shadowform AND Moonkin form. What do you think?

You can make many of the same arguments about Shadowform and Moonkin form that you can make about Tree of Life form. Yet it still feels different. Giving up your healing abilities for damage and utility just doesn't seem the same as giving up your damage and utility to heal.

It may be that giving up healing to compete with damage classes doesn't feel so bad because most damage classes can't heal anyway. But giving up your damage to compete with healers when A) the other healers don't have to, and B) healer damage isn't great in the first place, just feels a little different.
